The CatGen Platform, which includes the CatGen client software as well as host services such as payment, shipping, fulfillment and order-tracking, is an open-source software platform designed specifically for non-technical users with low-bandwidth (or expensive) connections to create their own web catalogs and sell their products and services domestically and overseas. It is currently in development and is scheduled to become operational by the end of the second quarter of 2001. CatGen is a 'database-to-web-catalog' application. Users will enter information about their company, products and services into their local database. This information may include html text, images, sound and video. After registering at CatGen.com they may, at the click of a button, download this information to a central database in order to create their web site and enter their products and services into a global searchable database. Their web site may be created at CatGen.com, on another site that runs the CatGen-Server software, or (later) on any other host via ftp.

Sak?Mail is a very high performance Web-based email system, designed for scaling to large numbers of concurrent users. It takes advantage of the Java Servlet API's memory-resident architecture and multi-threading HTTP response model. It avoids file system accesses through memory caching at every possible point, and never needs to touch the file system at runtime at all if coupled with an IMAP server. It supports POP3, IMAP, and SMTP, including authenticated SMTP. It also provides an extremely sophisticated message rendering system that can easily handle even complex HTML encoded messages with attachments that have been forwarded multiple times.

FAQ allows any authorized user to either ask questions or answer questions, depending on security, and is suitable for use as a community-maintained FAQ. The user both asking and answering questions can optionally be tracked, and questions and answers can be moderated before being available to readers if desired. Customizable JSP pages are provided for the user interface, and links can be easily made to specific topics from any page, as all components take query parameters to customize their behavior.

Currently, Jyve directly supports the MySQL database, but others can be easily support by creating custom schema's for the appropriate databases.

This JSP program allows remote web-based file access and manipulation. You can upload, copy, create, move, delete and unpack files. Text files can be edited and groups of files and folders can be downloaded as a single zip file that is created on the fly. It is also possible to execute shell commands on the server. You can use it with every Jsp1.1 compatible Server (like Tomcat>=3.0, Resin or Jetty). You can now restrict file access to certain directories only or forbid it in certain directories (white or blacklist).
